The historic Campbell Free Kindergarten in Victoria Park has been fully restored and Waitemata Local Board wants your feedback on how you’d like this fantastic new space used for the community.

It is the first time this building will be opened to the public to view. Don’t miss this chance!

Come to our open day this Saturday, 5 May from 1pm – 3pm, to see this beautifully restored space, find out more about its history and give us your say!

This registered heritage building, built in 1910, has been vacant since 1992. It was named after its benefactor Sir John Logan Campbell and is of national, regional and local significance.

If you can’t make it on the day, you can still give us your feedback by 20 May.

Grey Lynn Creates is an eight day festival to be held during the RWC 2011, 25th September – 2nd October, celebrating creativity and sustainability in our local community.

With a programme of free events suitable for all ages, people of the community and visitors alike are invited to experience and participate in the local artistic, cultural, culinary and environmental happenings across the week.

As locals, you have the best ideas about your area and we want to include those in the artwork.

What the artist needs to get going is a theme to base the artwork on. The theme needs to:

• Represent Grey Lynn and its residents
• Reflect the passions of the local community
• Speak to the community
• Make the community proud

Over December 2010 and January 2011, we will collect ideas from the public that will determine the theme of the artwork.
